Come Holy Spirit
In the book of Acts, we read about the extraordinary moment on the day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit descended upon the disciples with power, filling them and marking the beginning of the church.
As the disciples gathered in one place, suddenly a sound like a mighty rushing wind filled the entire house where they were sitting. Then, what seemed to be tongues of fire appeared and rested on each of them, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, beginning to speak in other languages as the Spirit enabled them. This moment was a fulfilment of Jesus’ promise that the Spirit would come to empower His followers to be witnesses to the ends of the earth.
Today, we live with anticipation and longing for the Holy Spirit to move among us in similar ways— to revive, transform, and empower us. We pray for God to pour out His spirit again, as He did in that upper room, igniting our hearts with passion and boldness to make His name known.
